Configure 635-Controller
This topic covers how to configure a controller’s network settings and other panel operating parameters using the panel’s embedded web page.
TOPICS featured
Configure Panel via Web Config Tool
This section covers how to configure the Controller Panel CPU and boards using the Web Config Tool and CPU embedded web page.
Requirements & Equipment Needed
On-Boarding Document - contains your Event Server IP settings (provided by Galaxy).
Laptop/PC – must be in the same network segment and the panel door tamper switch must be open.
Panels are located on the network by their mac address - do not change the mac address or CPU serial number.
CAT5e cable
Web Configuration Tool – utility program used to configure panels and run diagnostics on peripheral hardware.
Find the Web Config Tool on the Galaxy Install USB (X:\\Utilities\Galaxy_635_Web_Server_V107.exe)
Or download the Web Config Tool from this link (Galaxy Dealer password may be required).

-
You reach the network configuration screen using the 635 Web Configuration Tool.
-
The Location (in blue) is optional.
-
The IP Addressing (in yellow) will typically be provided by the Customer’s IT Department or Internet Service Provider.
-
The IP Addressing must be appropriate for your customer’s network.
-
The IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway will be based on your customer’s addressing.
-
-
The MAC Address (in green) will be pre-programmed and should not be changed.

Configure the Cluster ID and Unit ID ...
-
To configure the first panel for the first customer: configure Cluster “1” and Unit “1” for the CPU.
-
If you are configuring additional controllers for the same cluster/customer: then enter the same/appropriate Cluster#. Then increment the controller Unit IDs so that each controller has a unique Unit # within the Cluster. You cannot have duplicate Unit numbers.
-
If you are configuring panels for a different (new) customer (not the first customer): then you must add a new Cluster and assign Unit#1 to the first panel. Then increment the controller Unit IDs so that there are no duplicate Unit IDs in the same cluster.
-
See the System Galaxy Programming topic for details on how to add hardware (clusters and controllers) to System Galaxy.
-
-
Your CPU Number should be “1”.
-
Configure the Panel Options to match settings shown in your Onboarding Document. (See the screen below for example.)
-
enter the exact encryption passphrase that is shown in your OnBoarding Document.
-
“check” the ‘Enable Encryption of all message traffic’
-
“check” the ‘Enable a web server on this CPU’
-
-
Configure the IP Filters to match settings shown in your Onboarding Document.
-
“check” the ‘Ignore SYN packets’

-
Enter the Server IP Address from your Onboarding Document
-
The Server Port (remote port) should match the Port # from your Onboarding Document.
-
The 635 Port (local port) should be 3001 for the first controller panel in the Cluster. This should increment for each additional panel. Unit 2 should use 3002, Unit 3 should use 3003, and so on.
