Overview & Prerequisites
The VMS Viewer allows an authorized user to View Live video or View Recorded video.
PREREQUISITES & NOTES
- Discovery OWS is the default video management system used by LaunchPoint
- Your brand of VMS Video plug-in must be installed and configured in the system by the System Administrator.
- The cameras must be mapped to the appropriate readers/doors, or input device.
- The LaunchPoint user must have a valid login to the VMS webpage and permissions to view video/cameras (configured by administrator).
- If user doesn’t have proper permissions, LaunchPoint will display an error message when the user tries to view a camera.
- Contact your integrator for questions about your VMS.
How to View Video
The VMS Viewer allows an authorized user* to play Live video or Recorded video.
HOW TO OPEN THE VMS SCREEN
There are multiple ways to open the Video Viewer (or VMS Online Video Screen).

LaunchPoint Dashboard: Hover your mouse-pointer over the VMS Tile and select Live or Archive.

LaunchPoint Side Menu: Click the VMS Icon and select Live or Archive.

Alarm Event popup: Click the View Video button.
Click/tap on thumbnails to open and close them.

NOTE: if the user clicked a View Video button from an event message or alarm event message, the live video will display from the camera that is linked to the selected event.
STEPS

From the menu or dashboard, select the View VMS option.

select the Live viewer to see live feed.

select the Archive viewer to see recorded / historic video.

In the Video Viewer popup modal, choose the desired reader.

Click Show Video button to launch the VMS Viewer.

User must provide the valid login credentials: name/email and password.
Login Page appearance will vary based on brand or setup.

Click LOG IN button (or click NEXT button) - as needed.

When the VMS Page opens, the video will display for the selected reader.

The VMS Camera will display live video (or recorded), based on your selection.

select the desired camera independently

play, pause, forward, reverse, stop and speed control recorded video playback.

pan/tilt/zoom, iris control camera during live video, depending on the camera type installed.
NOTE: the VMS brand, camera type, or setup of system options may, or may not, support these listed or unlisted features. User's VMS login account permissions may apply and requirements may vary between VMS brands. Contact your system administrator for assistance with operating camera controls and playback controls, as well as viewing cameras and video.

When you close the Video Viewer, the page session is ended. User must provide login credentials at each View request.
NOTE: Controls and options may vary based on brand of VMS, configuration, setup, user permissions.
* The user must have login rights that grant permission to view video on the VMS server.
