What's New in System Galaxy 11

This page lists the New & Updated Features deployed in each release of System Galaxy (by version).

 

 

 

Release information updated August 2024

New Features & Enhancements

 

  1. As of System Galaxy 11.8.6: System Operators (including first Master Operator) must use an email address for the Operator Name field. The email must be a valid format such as name@domain.com – i.e., .net, .edu, etc.).

    • For System upgrades, any existing operator name will continue to function, but all newly-added System Operators must use a valid email address for the Operator Name.

    • NOTE: Galaxy does not validate whether the email is active, only whether the name meets the formatting requirements for an email address.

  2. Added dedicated API operator named ‘SGApiUser’. The password is randomly generated, and the config file is updated automatically.

  3. Added an option to the ‘On the Clock’ Report to include the Record ID and Phone #. Use the SG Settings Editor to enable this data to be included on the report:

    • “0” is disabled (data is not shown on report)

    • “1” is enabled (Record ID and Phone will appear on report)

  4. Improved the AD Service for the AD Change Monitor Utility   which imports cardholders from Active Directory.

  5. The DVRs option has been renamed to Video Systems in the Hardware tree, and SG menu Configure >Hardware > Video Systems editing window.

  6. Card Exchange and EPI-Builder are no longer supported. Added an obsolescence pop-up warning message which appears whenever the operator prints or previews a badge from Card Exchange badge or GA Imaging.

  7. Updated MorphManager/BioBridge Idemea integration to Version 16.5.0.7

  8. In the System Galaxy software the ‘Controller Mover’ is renamed to “Controller Mover (500i Only)”.

 

 

Other Notes:

  • The System Specifications/Recommendations have been updated for PC (client/server), MS Windows/Server OS, and MS SQL Versions. See the SG System Specifications PDF for details.

  • idProducer Badging supersedes all prior badging solutions. Card Exchange and EPI Builder (GA Imaging) are no longer supported in SG 11.8.6 or higher

  • The new AD Change Monitor Tool supersedes all older AD Import Tools in 11.8.5 or higher.

  1. (NEW) TKE Agile Kiosk Elevator System (Destination-based Solution).  

    Supports the following ...

    • up to 15 Agile Kiosks per floor/landing for front and back doors

    • up to 15 Elevators per system (no in cab readers with Agile system)

    • up to 128 Floors per elevator system (front and rear doors)

    • 4 elevator groups per elevator system.

  2. (NEW) GCS AD Change Monitor App (API-based AD Service)   

    Supports the following ...

    • Allows an SG Operator to retrieve AD User Data from select AD User Group(s) (by Org Unit), based on the ‘Customer’ assignment.

    • supports “pushing” (importing) AD User Data into System Galaxy database (as new Cardholders)

    • synchronizes (updates) user changes for existing users/cardholders based on change cookies

    • supports synchronizing data based on email address (configuration required)

    • supports data field mapping

    • allows SG Operator to control settings for synchronization

    • allows SG Operator to assign common fields to update the Cardholder population with such the same information, such as card type, facility code, badge assignment, access profile assignment, etc.

       

  3. NOTICE: Microsoft IIS settings must be installed using the Galaxy IIS Install Helper Utility...

    • IIS is required for LaunchPoint Web Client and idProducer Badging Solution.

    • You must run Galaxy’s IIS Install Utility from Step 4 of the Galaxy Installation USB/ISO.

    • You must run the IIS Install Helper Utility before you install idProducer or LaunchPoint.

       

  4. Updates and Enhancements to LaunchPoint

    • Help icon added to Dashboard header linking to LP Help page for user support.

    • Setting to restrict deletions of cardholders (will be marked inactive instead) if desired.

    • Can now restrict deletions of access groups, schedules, and special days.

    • Option to enable/disable customers’ ability for Bluetooth credential creation.

    • Integration with TBS biometrics.

 

   Additional Fixes

  1. Fixed error caused in some scenarios when disabling a cardholder from the Live Events screen.

  2. Fixed issue with cardholders’ Data fields missing data in System Galaxy when entered from LaunchPoint.

  3. Fixed problem with warning modal for browser snooze appearing before the browser falls asleep.

  4. Now able to modify cardholders regardless of if the connection to idProducer subscription is successful.

  5. Created a workflow resolving issues with master/non-master operators adding shared loops to a profile.

  6. Fixed error from enrolling cards in Live Events when events involve 40-bit credentials.

  7. Fixed problem with saving data in LP containing the word “Exception”.

  8. Fixed error with Time Schedules unable to be modified or accessed in LaunchPoint.

  9. Fixed issue with cardholder filtering between customers when cardholder ID codes are the same.

  10. Cardholder Search now returns correct results when searching with non-alphanumeric characters.

  11. Fixed issue where LP saved card data incorrectly for some card technologies.

  12. Expanded error logging.

  13. Made changes to text for modal windows.

  14. Updated SystemGalaxy.exe to automatically enable (turn ON) the ‘Use Web Services’ option if the system is registered for idProducer badging and the ‘Use Web Services’ option is OFF. This condition is detected at the time System Galaxy is launched.

 

 

 

Major Features:

  1. Updated SystemGalaxy.exe to automatically enable (turn ON) the ‘Use Web Services’ option if the system is registered for idProducer badging and the ‘Use Web Services’ option is OFF. This condition is detected at the time System Galaxy is launched.

  2. SG_Import – fixed issue where default facility/company code wasn’t used for update operations.

  3. SG_Import – fixed bug that was causing dialog box to appear when executing the application with a command line parameter. This was preventing the app from being used in automated batch files.

  4. Added new message to GCS_Loader to report that the panels and database have different card modes specified. The message says something like this: Load Card NACK. Verify cluster Card Data Mode matches panel settings.

  5. Added Galaxy 40-bit card format (top 4 bits = Prefix(0-15), lower 36 bits = ID Code, no parity ).

  6. Added S28 Flash file section lists to allow loader to be used on cloud machines where file browsing is disabled.

  7. Added Time Zone selection to 6xx clusters.

  8. Updated services to support clusters in different time zone from event server. This had impact on Event Server, Client GW & DBWriter.

  9. Adjusted ‘GCSEventServer’ time sync logic to sync at 0 and 30 minutes on the hour rather than doing it once per hour on a free running timer.

  10. Changed 500 loop time sync behavior to occur at the top and bottom of the hour instead of at random times.

  11. Fixed issue that was allowing case-insensitive passwords to be accepted.

  12. Fixed issue with 500 loops and time zone changing.

Major Features:

  1. LaunchPoint Web Client (On-Premises) - with crisis mode and real-time event/alarm handling.

  2. idProducer Badge Designer (Web Solution) - with basic or advanced license available.

  3. OTIS Elevator now supports up to 96 DECs.

  4. A “Multiple Credentials” caption will appear in the Cardholder Editor to indicate that a record has multiple credentials enrolled on a person’s record. System Galaxy will display the red-letter caption beside the [Record ID] field in the Cardholder Editor whenever a cardholder record has more than one credential enrolled with it. Note other records could be enrolled, but these will not affect the record actively viewed.

  5. System Galaxy is able to display all trace events in a separate event window and have an audio sound play when a trace event is received.

  6. Added Controller Alarm Acknowledgment report found in the View> Reports> Crystal Reports> menu path.
